To consult with staff on a regular basis to advise of, and receive staff views on, any matter relating to the health, safety and welfare of persons in the workplace relevant to the functions of the committee.
To report to the Dean on its activities after each meeting and provide recommendations on matters under review as deemed appropriate by the committee.
To conduct, organise or schedule inspections of workplaces to identify risks.
The committee will appoint a convenor and a secretary
The secretary will record, file and maintain complete minutes of each meeting

Division Manager (employer's representative)
The elected member of the University' central OHS Committee
A representative of each of the 4 departments / centres in the division
The ratio of employer's representatives and staff representative must never fall below 1:3
Membership of the Committee will be for a period of 2 years.
To be eligible for election committee members must be continuing members of staff
