Research Festival 2007
The Postgraduate Research Festival is going from strength to strength and was hugely successful this year. There was a record number of presentations and e-presentations and the sessions were lively and interesting - clear evidence of the excellent intellectual climate of this Division!!
There is an enormous amount of hard work that goes into organizing the Festival each year, and it truly ranks with some of the best international conferences that I and many of my colleagues have attended. I would like to express my most sincere thanks and appreciation to the following people who made the festival happen, and happen so successfully:
- The Festival Organizing Committee, chaired by Ayako Ochi and Claire Soctt, and including Janet Brady, Donna Butorac, Helen Dodd, Luke Egan, Greg Flannery, Wiebke Grauel (great program cover!), Celia Harris, Abhishek Kumar, Gerard O'Neill, Anuradha Sengar, Jessica Taubert, and Vera Tetteh;
- Divisional and Departmental staff, including Jennifer Cornish, Greg Cuthbertson, Nigel Gray (great photos!), Robyn Guilmette, Judi Homewood, Ian Jones, Lalana Knox, Stephen Moore, Leigh Stanger, Erin Thatcher, and Lisa Yen;
- All the student presenters and guest speakers, including Deputy VC Jim Piper, Darren Burke, Stephen Crain, Linda Cupples, Ingrid Piller, Phillip Newall, and Bill Thompson.
- Last but not least, I would like to congratulate again the winners of the HDR Excellence Awards, presented by Professor Piper at the Opening Launch:
