HDR Excellence Award
These awards are intended to recognise superior academic
performance amongst higher degree research students. They will recognise student academic research
achievement beyond that of completing the research thesis.
Administration of the Award
- The awards are competitive
- Recommendations to the Executive Dean about the awards will be made
upon receipt of the official form from a given
student’s supervisor
- Up to three Awards will be made each year
- An Award will be only granted in a year where there is at
least one nomination of sufficient merit
- An award will be make on the basis of quality: including publications concerned with research during the higher degree candidature, grants received, invited lectures and conference presentations, and recognition by outside bodies, including awards
- The closing date for nominations will be 4pm Friday November 14th 2008
- A candidate can be awarded the Division of Linguistics and
Psychology HDR Excellence Award only once
- Awards will be presented at Divisional Research Festival
- The value of the award is a $200 book voucher
Process of nomination
- HDR supervisors are invited to nominate candidates for the awards
- A nomination form should be completed by the supervisor(s) on behalf of the student,
indicating the supervisor’s support and accompanied by a CV from
the student together with appropriate supplementary materials
(template with nomination form embedded is provided but there is no obligation to use this format for your CV)
- Students whose theses are under examination are eligible to apply
- Nominees are to submit five copies of their curriculum vitae giving details of all publications (whether print or multi-media), conference presentations, invited addresses, prizes, grants, and scholarships. Nominees should enclose five copies of publications or other supplementary material
